To punish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and PiS President Jarosław Kaczyński for ignoring him during negotiations to unblock KPO, President Andrzej Duda vetoed the amendment to the Education Act; the president “showed his strength” and “got back into the game” – rated the head of Poland 2050 Szymon Hołownia.

Button with text ‘veto’
The president announced on Thursday that he had vetoed the amendment to the education law, referring to the draft amendment to the law on the Supreme Court, which – as European Affairs Minister Szymon Szynkowski assured vel Sęk – should reach the most important milestone that has been indicated by the European Commission with regard to the National Reconstruction Plan.
Hołownia noted at a press conference in Bydgoszcz that the president spoke for 20 minutes of government humiliation, ignored by Prime Minister Morawiecki and the PiS president, that he was denied a conversation, the right to information, the right to cause .
President Duda said clearly and very clearly today: if you keep “shitting” me, I will have a button on my desk with the word “veto” all the time. President Duda, to punish the government of Mateusz Morawiecki and Jarosław Kaczyński for “abandoning” him in the process of European negotiations when it comes to unlocking money from KPO and treating him as they treated him, Lex Czarnek 2.0 vetoed it. He vetoed a government law for the second time, which was one of the banners PiS carried in the procession of ideological change in Poland
said Holownia.
Poland’s 2050 leader judged that the president was “rubbing his nose” with Mateusz Morawicki and Jarosław Kaczyński, with a message that could be summed up as: “Hello, I’m here and you should be considerate of me.”
It’s a good thing that[President]Lex Czarnek vetoed it, because it’s a hopeless bill that should be tossed in the trash after the first paragraphs we’ve come to know. I have no doubt about that, but there is also no doubt that it is no coincidence that these two topics are being discussed at this conference. First he told how they “failed” him, then they “failed” one of their lead projects
said Holownia.
The head of Poland 2050 added that the president also gave a signal on how he sees the work in the Sejm on unblocking funds from the National Reconstruction Plan.
The president has drawn a “red line” that he believes should not be crossed or he will veto the bill. He clearly said: do not change the law on the National Council of the Judiciary, do not pass amendments that will now result in my judicial appointments being verified, reviewed, removed from office or anything else will happen to them, if you such an amendment, I will I will veto the bill and – as I understand it – I will accept the amendment that there will be no money from KPO, that is money for Poland
– said the head of Poland 2050.
Hołownia stressed that he disagreed with the president on this matter, he believed that the case of the “neo-KRS” should be resolved, although it is questionable whether it should be resolved on this occasion. He noted that as far as the work on the draft amendment of the Supreme Court law is concerned, agreement has been reached on this issue by the leaders of the democratic opposition since Wednesday.
According to Hołownia, the president “demonstrated political power” and “re-entered the political game”.
“He’s clearly having a good week.”
I really like it when President Duda has a good week. He’s clearly having a good week now. He started it with a very good decision that the telephone conversation with the German president would be changed into a personal meeting, partly on our Polish initiative. It did, this meeting was much needed after all those pointless Patriot brawls we witnessed
– said the leader of Poland 2050.
Today President Duda came out and treated us to a kind of political thriller. Because first, for 20 minutes, he told how he was humiliated by the government, humiliated, popularly – ignored by Mateusz Morawiecki, Jarosław Kaczyński and all that part of his political circle, how he was denied a conversation, the right on information, the right to act
– added.
Hołownia ruled that Andrzej Duda is ready to take responsibility for the fact that no money will come from KPO, which is “money for Poland, not for President Duda, Prime Minister Kaczyński, Tusk, Hołownia or any of the politicians”.
Do I agree with the president on this? Of course I don’t agree. I believe the neo-KRS issue needs to be resolved. The question is whether it should happen now, with this bill. When it comes to working on this bill, we, along with other leaders of Democratic groups, will do everything knowing how much depends on our vote. Because Ziobro will probably vote against this bill with his circle, knowing that after the budget he will be fired from the government anyway. And today we also have a signal from the Confederacy that they can also vote against
he pointed it out.
We will try to bring the rule of law in Poland as close as possible to the rule of law standards that we are thinking of, as far as possible in this parliamentary practice. We will table amendments, demand their approval, participate very actively in this process and remember one thing – that it is Poland’s money, all of us
said Holownia.
The president displayed political power and gave the piss workers a nose in the back. And when it ends – that’s what we have parliament for, to find out next week where it all ends. We need money from KPO ASAP, there is no doubt about it
– added.
Czarnek’s idiotic act went where it belonged from the very beginning – to the trash. Minister Czarnek, we propose the third Lex Czarnek law, the fourth and the fifth. They also end up in the trash, that’s where they belong, whatever you work for, it’s no use anyway
emphasized the politician.
Decisions of the President
The president said on Thursday that he had not participated in the preparation of the draft amendment to the Supreme Court law, nor had he been consulted. He called for calm and constructive parliamentary work on the bill. At the same time, he announced that he would not agree to solutions that undermine the constitutional system and that any legal act would be introduced in the Polish legal system that would allow anyone to verify and challenge judicial appointments made by the President of the Republic of Poland. Poland. He stressed that ultimately it is the head of state who decides whether someone becomes a judge or not, and this decision by the president “is final and unquestionable”.
Justifying the veto of the amendment to the Education Act introducing changes to the rules of operation of organizations and associations in schools and kindergartens, increasing supervision of probation officers and introducing changes to home education, the president stressed that despite lengthy work on the law, no social compromise was reached, there was no public hearing and the draft amendment was a parliamentary submission, limiting public consultations. Duda stated that “entities from all sides of the political scene find points in this act about which they have very serious doubts and protest.” The president stated that the amendment failed to deliver what he wanted, which was peace.
We do not need any additional tensions in Poland today
he stressed.
