“We categorically reject the recent statements made by British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley, who, after the US representatives, accused the Russian Federation and Iran of making some ‘shameful’ agreements in the context of the Ukraine crisis,” the statement said.

As Russian diplomats point out, the United Kingdom “is well aware that the allusions to Iran’s military supply to Russia, allegedly carried out in exchange for Russian military-technical support, are completely exaggerated.” The text states that, unlike its Western rivals, Russia “remains unfailingly committed to complying with national legislation and international law in cooperation with third countries.”

“If we are talking about ‘shameful’ deals, James Cleverly should first of all remember the massive military-technical, financial and propaganda assistance provided to the Kiev regime by Great Britain and its Western allies,” the diplomats said.

The embassy also noted that the pumping of Ukraine with Western weapons “in violation of the basic norms of export control” only contributed to the prolongation of hostilities and an increase in the number of civilian casualties, and that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) used the military. Equipment provided by them for “terrorist attacks on, in fact, civilian objects” on the territory of the Russian Federation.
