French President Emmanuel Macron was outraged when a journalist asked about possible winter power outages. TASS.

During a meeting with journalists upon his arrival at the EU-Western Balkans summit in the Albanian capital, the French leader called for an end to such reasoning and to start saving electricity.

“This discussion is nonsense. “Everything I’ve heard for the past few hours is nonsense,” Macron said.

According to him, the role of state officials and state institutions is not to spread fear, but to work to energize the country.

He also drew attention to everyone’s responsibility in this situation and called for “energy sobriety”, not “to scare people with different scenarios”.

“Stop it. We are a great country, we have a great energy model, we will get through this winter despite the war,” he said.

He says everyone should do their job: the power company EDF to support the power plants, the government to do the planning, and everyone else to maintain energy sobriety.
