Federation Council Chairman Valentina Matvienko said that Russia has not closed itself off to anyone despite the “global turbulence”. It has been reported TASS.

“The Third Eurasian Women’s Forum took place a little over a year ago. The term is short. But during this time, the international political situation has radically changed…” said Matviyenko.

As Matvienko adds, Russia has not been fenced off despite its changed attitude towards it.

“Russia is committed, as before, to an equal partnership based on mutual respect, despite all external difficulties,” Matvienko said.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a special military operation in Ukraine in response to a request for assistance from the heads of the LPR and DPR.

The decision to run the operation became the justification for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
