The main goal of the “Dis Mis Information” project of the Center for Digital Intelligence (CENID), of which Estela Saquete is the main researcher, is to make the information transmitted from the municipal buildings to their neighbors much more accessible, agile and understandable. This is aimed at rejecting misinformation and eliminating deception at the local level in an area where “it is harder to deny and false news is very problematic”.

“We are working on the implementation of technologies to combat both intentional and unintentional misinformation that can confuse citizens. Fake news is common and goes viral easily. Therefore, it is very difficult for the citizen to receive correction or denial in the same way as the news reached him,” Saquete explained.

The project, undertaken by CENID, builds on Artificial Intelligence as the main weapon in the fight against disinformation and applies human language techniques to detect “fake news” early.

In short, the aim is to “a person who goes to the municipality building to get information easily understand everything that the city council wants to convey, and also to know the content of the news with the answers to the questions of who and what”. , where, why and when,” commented the researcher.

It should be noted that the Center for Digital Intelligence has an initiative of the Alicante State Council, the University of Alicante and Miguel Hernández University to establish the main benchmark in the state of Alicante in terms of the development, research, dissemination and implementation of strategies. and digital enabling technologies.
