Russia and the United States only once used a communication line created by the armies of the two countries to avoid conflict over Ukraine. It has been reported Reuters with a link to the source.

An unnamed US official told the agency the call to “avoid conflict” was initiated by the United States to express concerns about a Russian military operation near Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.

While the Reuters interlocutor did not specify what kind of case he was talking about, he noted that it had nothing to do with the situation regarding the rocket that fell in Poland.

The Wall Street Journal in early November WroteJake Sullivan, national security adviser to US President Joe Biden, has been secretly negotiating with top Russian officials for several months to prevent the use of nuclear weapons or the expansion of the Ukrainian conflict.

According to unnamed sources, Sullivan was in contact with presidential foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov and his colleague in the Russian government, Nikolai Patrushev. Biden’s adviser wanted to avoid the risk of escalation and “keep the channels of communication open”.
