Joaquín Pérez, president of CEV Alicante; Ineca’s, Nacho Amirola; and Francisco Llopis, Director of Economic Studies at the same institute, presented the final results of the report on the analysis of the Generalitat Valenciana’s 2023 budgets. After the controversy that arose last week, the PP would only receive 360 million euros in investment when the state denounced it, the figures collected in the study match those announced by the Botanical Government, namely Alicante will receive 610 million311.8 corresponds to those directly executed by Consell, 297.6 of them are included in capital transfers to other administrations.
This is 41% of the total investments foreseen in the Valencia Community budgets as a whole, for the third consecutive year, The state of Alicante will be the state with the most funds per capita, in particular 164.5 euros, a figure that barely contradicts the 85 euros stipulated by the State budget. Nevertheless, both Ineca and CEV, The province continues to run an investment deficit of 232 million euros since 2008. They add that this gap has had a negative impact on different essential services, as evidenced by the lower rate of beds for teachers, doctors or the elderly in Alicante compared to Valencia and Castellón.
On the other hand, the report refers to the low level of budget execution, especially 61%. Although there is no specific data on actual investments, it is assumed that Generalitat will suspend around €758m in Alicante state over the past 14 years.
The authors of the study also criticize that only 51% of investments are regionalized and assigned to specific projects; It is unknown where half of the funds went.
