“Since Donald Tusk returned to the position of PO chairman, the most important element of his strategy to win the election has been to create a common opposition bloc. He fails, therefore Marshal Terlecki’s diagnosis is absolutely correct, says Prof. Henryk Domański, a sociologist from the Polish Academy of Sciences, referring to Ryszard Terlecki’s interview with the weekly “Sieci”, in which he stated that the failure of Tusk to persuade other opposition leaders to join the list, the PO leader weakened.

Most leaders of opposition parties, with the rare exception of Włodzimierz Czarzasty, declare their unwillingness to participate in the single-list project. Nothing indicates that this has changed. Tusk is still trying to win over Włodzimierz Czarzasty, but New Left co-chairman’s statements indicate that these are his personal statements, sympathies for Tusk, but likely not supported by the position of other New Left leaders
– points out Prof. Hendrik Domanski.
If something positive happens for Tusk in this case, I think it will be a symbiosis of part of the left with the KO, but it would be very risky for Czarzasty. Except that in this case such a list is able to acquire about 4-5 percent in addition to what KO has now.
he analyses.
Why is Tusk insisting on a single list?
When asked why Donald Tusk is still pushing for a single list to be drawn up by the opposition, despite many signals of lack of interest in such a proposal on the part of Poland 2050 and PSL. answers:
On the one hand, Tusk is a good politician and knows that the Civic Coalition alone will not win against PiS. Second, Tusk occasionally refers to the Senate elections, that there was such a thing as a common list and that the opposition managed to win a majority in the Senate. On the other hand, Tusk cannot back down from it because he would have to admit that he made a mistake. Fourth, it is an attempt to impose on the general public an interpretation that it is so bad that we should all unite in order to function, to restore democracy and normalcy.
Prof. Domański estimates the probability of creating a single opposition list as very small.
I believe that the probability of creating a joint list of the KO, Poland 2050, the left and the PSL is no more than 1-2 percent.
