I see no reason to set up a commission of inquiry into the so-called wiretapping scandal – said Minister of Development and Technology Waldemar Buda. He indicated that commissions of inquiry are necessary if state authorities fail to fulfill their duties, and in this case – as he added – there were final court decisions.

Tusk wants a tire inquiry committee
On Tuesday, the head of Civic Platform, Donald Tusk, referred to the publication of the weekly “Newsweek”.
According to the weekly, Marcin W. – employee of Marek Falenta convicted of organizing wiretapping of the most important people in the country – testified in the investigation into the company co-owned by Falenta that was opened before the shooting in the restaurant “Sowa i Przyjaci ” shocked the Polish political scene, they fell into Russian hands and “the prosecutor’s office is investigating, but in this case avoids the plot of espionage”.
Tusk said the Russians were interested in changing power in Poland, or at least destabilizing the political situation. The PO chief argued that only a commission of inquiry, independent of Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro and PiS President Jarosław Kaczyński, could explain the influence of Russian services on PiS’s energy policy.
Buda: Statements have already been made in this case
When asked about the words of the head of the PO during a press conference in Koluszki (Łódź Voivodeship) on Wednesday, the head of the Ministry of Regional Development said that “commissions of inquiry are necessary if the state authorities do not fulfill their duties, and in this case “The public prosecutor’s office was not only active, but also transferred its work to the court and final convictions followed.”
I don’t know if there are any prisoners yet, but sentences have already been handed down. I therefore see no reason to call in a commission of inquiry here
added Buda.
In his view, Tusk’s proposal should be treated as a political initiative, not one that would explain anything.
This scandal is a bleak picture of the originator of this idea and I think he should be talking about it the least. Everything he wanted to say was recorded and we listened to it as part of this scandal. This is not a good picture of the state as we had seen in previous years in the hands of the people in charge of Poland at the time
said Buda.
