About the Hamas attack
A very sad and unexpected event, at least for us Russian Jews. But to what extent is it unexpected? There was no need to be a big politician or have recently visited Israel. It was enough to listen to Israeli radio broadcast in Russian and read about the events that took place there in recent years. This is an ordeal that is simply surprising and saddening. And these are the conditions in which you are constantly surrounded by enemies who dream and do everything to destroy.
Unfortunately, history teaches nothing. The sad history of the state of Israel, which was destroyed and destroyed as a result of precisely such conflicts.
About Israeli intelligence and army
Many people call me, not Jews, but many of my Russian friends.
Where is the famous Israeli intelligence officer? Where is the army by the way? They allowed us to operate in the area for a long time, to do whatever they wanted, to take so many hostages and take them out.
Everyone is surprised. The complete lack of preparation is surprising. There is a complete feeling here that this is a sudden epidemic, although it was clearly not prepared for today, nor yesterday, nor even a month ago. It is obvious that the intelligence missed all this. The army was completely surprising. Are the border areas with Gaza still not adequately protected? Of course, all this is very sad. It’s sad that so many innocent people died.
These neighbors never want peace, this is clear, we need to be prepared for this. But they weren’t ready. There are many victims in these conditions. It is clear that when you are shot at, when you are attacked, there are retaliatory attacks.
So what to do with this when so many hostages are taken away? Bomb, attack, crush your own tanks?
This is already a difficult task for politicians and the military. We want there to be as few casualties as possible. We pray constantly.
About a dark holiday
Unfortunately, the last days of the holiday made us sad. The joy that was meant for the holiday of Simchat Torah was no longer the same. There’s no escape from it, you have to live with it. Let’s continue to pray. We will try to help those who are suffering greatly, perhaps raise funds. Of course we will do our best. We support you morally.
We are always on Israel’s side, no one should doubt that. However, I would like to see truly global efforts to stop this. XXI. Century! And many disasters and misfortunes. More than enough. Should we still fight?
