A Russian detainee in the Orenburg region has confessed that, following orders he attributed to individuals in Ukraine, he planned to ignite a transfer cabin on a railway in Novotroitsk. The goal was to disrupt station operations and perform sabotage, according to a report cited by DEA News referencing the Center for Public Affairs of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB CSP).
Information from the detainee indicates that he was approached by individuals he described as Ukrainians who proposed collaboration. The narrative suggests a chain of contact that led him to consider committing arson as a tactic tied to broader aims.
The FSB has released photographs showing a documented exchange between the detainee and alleged Ukrainian coordinators. The man allegedly received a photo of the relay box, its precise coordinates, and a detailed sequence of steps planned for execution.
Earlier reporting indicated that the FSB detained a Russian citizen, born in 1997, in the Orenburg region near Novotroitsk. Authorities said the individual was being guided by Ukrainian special services and was preparing to set fire to railway infrastructure, as well as facilities such as the military registration and enlistment office and the regional FSB office. The plan, according to officials, involved seizing the moment to move toward the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the future.
