On March 13, the Rosneft pavilion at the International Exhibition and Forum “Russia” will feature Artificial Intelligence Day, as announced on the company’s site. The event highlights Rosneft’s ongoing commitment to applying cutting-edge digital technologies across its operations and showcases how artificial intelligence is reshaping the energy sector for customers in North America as well as across its global footprint.

During this thematic day, Rosneft will showcase a range of solutions rooted in neural networks, machine learning, and big data analytics. Guests can expect demonstrations that illuminate how enterprise-grade AI capabilities can optimize exploration, drilling, production, and asset management. Company experts will deliver talks describing practical uses of artificial intelligence in the oil and gas value chain, along with the tangible benefits that modern AI-driven technologies bring to efficiency, safety, and decision-making in large-scale operations.

In addition, researchers from the Krasnoyarsk Scientific Institute will present an AI approach that identifies rock fault patterns from seismic records. The study leverages extensive data housed in the institution’s Seismic Information Storage Center, which is cited as one of the largest data repositories of its kind, containing more than 5 million gigabytes. This work demonstrates how advanced machine learning pipelines can extract meaningful geological insights from vast seismic datasets, supporting more informed well placement and resource assessment.

Visitors will also have the chance to engage with an interactive challenge called “Challenge the Neural Network,” featuring an AI system built with the RN-KIM simulator. Participants must arrange wells within a simulated environment to maximize oil recovery, with the winner determined by the total oil volume produced. This hands-on activity offers a tangible look at how AI-driven optimization can influence project design and yield outcomes in real-world settings.

Another highlight will be the introduction of the company’s production asset Kharampurneftegaz. Attendees will hear from Rosneft specialists about the processes involved in gas production, from upstream extraction to processing and logistics, illustrating how digital technologies integrate across the production lifecycle to improve throughput and reliability.

Separately, within the framework of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Days, the pavilion will host daily performances of the national anthem. Attendees can also participate in master classes that explore traditional Nenets crafts, including nuhuko dolls and the creation of Nenets amulets. The exhibition will provide opportunities to discover northern cultural heritage, sports, and other aspects of regional traditions that are intertwined with the broader energy landscape in Russia.
