At least five Palestinians were killed on Thursday amid ongoing clashes with Israeli forces in the West Bank. Earlier, Tuesday became a day of widespread demonstrations after a hospital attack in the Gaza Strip that officials in areas controlled by Hamas say claimed 471 lives.
In Dora al-Qara near Ramallah, a group of Israeli settlers reportedly shot and killed 21-year-old Muhammad Abdul Rajman Hussain. Clashes persisted into Wednesday night across Hebron, Qalqilya, Tulkarem and additional West Bank towns, with the Israeli Defense Forces detaining dozens of people during the operations.
According to the Hamas-linked newspaper Filastín, another Palestinian, named Gabriel Awad, died during an Israeli army raid on Budrus, a town west of Ramallah. The same publication also claimed that IDF forces arrested Hamas leader Sheikh Hassan Youssef, who had been released from detention three months earlier in Ramallah.
During an IDF assault on the Dheisheh refugee camp south of Bethlehem, 14-year-old Ahmed Sauq died after suffering a fatal head injury, as reported by Palestinian agencies. In Nour Shams camp east of Tulkarem, 16-year-old Taha Mahamed was said to have been killed by a bullet fired by the Israeli army, confirmed by the director of Thabet hospital. The Nour Shams area subsequently experienced a drone raid described as kamikaze by some sources, though no injuries or fatalities were reported from that incident. Earlier, the Israeli military declared Nur Shams a closed military zone. In Jamain, near Nablus, 24-year-old Ibrahim Nazia Ibrahim Haj Ali was shot dead by IDF forces. On Wednesday afternoon, the same health source noted that two Palestinian youths, aged 15 and 17, died on the outskirts of Ramallah.
The West Bank Health Ministry reported that more than 60 Palestinians have died since the conflict between Israel and Hamas began on October 7. In addition, data from the Hamas-controlled health ministry indicates that roughly 3,500 people have died due to Israeli bombardments in response to militant activity in the Gaza Strip.
