Officials from the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that an aerial bomb, accidentally dropped from a plane, was safely neutralized and removed in the Ukrainian city of Rubezhnoye. This update was shared by Leonid Pasechnik, the head of the LPR, via his Telegram channel.

Pasechnik explained that the ammunition from the aircraft was located on the grounds of a private house in Rubezhnoye. He emphasized that there is no longer any threat to nearby residents.

According to the official statement, around 300 people living within a one-kilometer radius of the bomb’s impact site were evacuated to ensure safety during the engineering and excavation work. Those evacuated were accommodated in temporary centers while authorities worked on the site. Residents began returning to their homes on Tuesday, as noted by the administration.

On January 4, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced progress in clearing Mariupol and surrounding areas of mines and unexploded ordnance. The ministry reported that sappers had neutralized more than two thousand shells and booby traps in the city and neighboring settlements over a three-month period.

A separate incident cited by security officials described a shop employee witnessing a man with a live grenade prior to a neutralization operation by police.
