The Rabota.ru service conducted a study and revealed where Russians most often hit roadblocks during a job search. socialbites.ca became acquainted with the survey results and saw how people in Russia are navigating the market.

A large share of those surveyed reported trouble finding vacancies. Sixty percent said there were not enough openings or that none matched their needs. Forty-three percent pointed to a mismatch between the advertised salary for roles and the actual requirements. The same share indicated gaps in the information presented about a vacancy.

Feedback from potential employers was missing for forty-two percent of respondents. Thirty-seven percent highlighted a gap between what was promised and what the job actually offered. About one in three believed recruiters were not active on job boards.

Employer expectations around candidate skills were noted by twenty-six percent. About a quarter faced pressure to have prior work experience that complicates the search. Thirteen percent mentioned demands for specific training or certifications.

Eleven percent found resume writing and interview stages challenging. Nine percent cited a lack of time to devote to the job search. Four percent described difficulties understanding the layout and features of job sites.

In a related finding, half of Russians indicated they would consider changing jobs due to a poor relationship with a supervisor.
