The case concerns a former teacher who faces a substantial prison term after allegations that he sexually harassed a 13-year-old student at La Salle school in Palma. The individual, who was expelled from the institution following the incident, later faced additional accusations related to inappropriate behavior toward a girl when approached for a simple question. In the ensuing months, authorities say, he was arrested by the National Police on suspicion of engaging in sexual activity with several former students from the same school. The Public Ministry is seeking a prison sentence, along with a 3,000-euro compensation payment to the victim and a nine-year prohibition from any work involving minors.

The Palma State Court is scheduled to hear the case, with proceedings dating back to April 20, 2021, according to a briefing from the Prosecutor’s Office that was shared with Diario de Mallorca through the Prensa Ibérica group. The accused, then 25 years old, was reportedly teaching mathematics at La Salle College during the time these events allegedly occurred.

The accusations describe harassment that began when the teacher used a routine class transition to close in on a 13-year-old student who came to him with a question. According to the Public Ministry, the conduct escalated from touching the student’s hand to inappropriately touching one of her breasts. The victim disclosed the incident to her guardian, who then informed the parents, prompting them to report the matter to authorities and seek guidance through the appropriate channels.

After the alleged offenses, the institution opted not to renew the contract a few months later, and the young man left the school. Despite leaving, investigators later alleged that he continued a close and improper relationship with several former students, prompting renewed concern from families and, eventually, a formal complaint later in the year from the father of a 14-year-old girl who suspected sexual contact with his daughter. This led the Family and Women’s Unit of the National Police to open a formal investigation and take several steps to gather evidence.

Investigative work concluded in October of that year with the arrest of the teacher and two associates on suspicion of sexual harassment. Authorities reportedly found multiple indications that the three defendants had sexual relations with three young girls aged 13 to 14 at the teacher’s home on more than one occasion. The case has since moved through the judicial process, with prosecutors presenting allegations that focus on the inappropriate conduct toward the young students and the alleged sexual activities with minors at issue.

Legal observers note that the scope of the case includes separate civil proceedings regarding the alleged abuse of former students, which are handled in parallel but within a different legal framework. The broader situation has drawn attention to questions about safeguarding and oversight within institutions, as well as the responsibilities of educators and administrators to protect students and report suspected misconduct promptly. The proceedings are expected to continue with formal hearings and determinations on charges, evidence, and the appropriate penalties if guilt is established beyond a reasonable doubt.
