It is premature to gauge long-term outcomes in this case. The investigation centers on a sexual assault involving a minor, aged 13 at the time. The matter concerns Leandro Ricardo Burgos Bilbao Lavieja and a 19-year-old male who allegedly coerced the victim into oral sex and vaginal penetration against her will. Burgos Bilbao Lavieja has been sentenced in one portion of the case for sexual assault and for a second offense involving child pornography, receiving a two-year prison term. He will not serve jail time immediately due to a lack of prior criminal history, and the victim is awarded 6,000 euros in civil liability. The events trace back to the spring of 2021 in the San Juan de Mozarrifar neighborhood. The parties reportedly had an amicable relationship with occasional encounters. In one of these encounters, Burgos Bilbao Lavieja allegedly compelled the victim to perform oral sex. The act was not accompanied by overt violence, yet the victim has carried a lasting sense of fear and timidity since the incident. The assailant allegedly positioned himself on her chest, restricting her ability to move away.

Despite the victim’s repeated pleas to stop, including calls to describe choking and a request to cease, the pressure continued in pursuit of sexual satisfaction. At one point, the victim managed to grab her phone to seek help. Burgos Bilbao Lavieja allegedly seized the device, documented the act, and sent the recording to a friend of the victim, amplifying the harm.

The proceedings indicate that the second sexual episode occurred with the same young girl shortly after, in April of the same year, involving vaginal penetration. The case unfolds in a two-part sequence and was defended by attorney Sofía Huguet, with proceedings overseen by the Violence Against Women Court No. 2 in Zaragoza. Forensic evaluations are cited as relevant for understanding the impact on the young victim’s maturation process, noting she was only 13 at the time of the initial assault.

According to the Ministry of Interior, a report issued last Friday shows a notable increase in reported sexual offenses in the Aragon region, rising by 15.4 percent over the previous year. Specifically, sexual assaults with penetration have surged by 138.5 percent since 2019 and by 17 percent compared to 2021. The report also highlights that while the rate of other sexual crimes rose between 2019 and 2022, the year-over-year change modestly declined by 1.5 percent, yet 2021 saw a 32.6 percent rise. These statistics underscore ongoing challenges in addressing sexual violence and protecting minors in the region. (Fuente: Ministry of Interior annual crime report)
