Authorities arrested a person believed to be a music teacher on charges of sexual assault involving female students aged 10 and 11 at a school in the Hoya de Buñol district municipality. The victims are being protected for anonymity by the reporting publication.
When did the incident occur? The young students informed another teacher who raised the alarm in the school, prompting management to act and report the matter to the Civil Guard for a proper investigation due to the seriousness of the conduct observed.
Following several inquiries and statements from multiple minors, investigators from the Civil Guard moved to detain the accused, a man around 58 years old who taught at the school and also conducted lessons at a music academy and in other nearby municipalities.
The involvement of individuals under 14 years old deepens the gravity of the alleged offense. At least three girls, aged ten and eleven, described similar experiences in their own words. The alleged touching took place during music lessons within the school facilities. In their statements, the victims reported that the teacher approached them from behind, touched their buttocks, and rubbed his genitals over their clothing, with no sexual intercourse reported at the time of the incidents.

That case resulted in a prison sentence of 35 years, with the final verdict delivered. A separate figure, Sergio Tamarit, is linked to a new trial concerning similar facts following a 2021 report, which indicated another 16-year-old victim who later came forward as the investigation concluded. Authorities are pursuing additional lines of inquiry related to a possible tenth victim in connection with the same alleged crimes.
