Chamber of Commerce chairman Carlos Baño and Mutxamel mayor Sebastián Cañadas today formalized an agreement that enables Chamber trustees to use a workshop building designated to house Solidarity’s new facilities. This arrangement involves Cámara Solidaria-AGS and Alicante Gastronomy Solidarity, with attendance from Mutxamel Councilor for Promotion and Development, Antonio Sola as coordinator of Cámara Solidaria-AGS, treasurer Fidel Bernabéu, and president Jesús Navarro Alberola, who joined the signing ceremony to reinforce local collaboration.

The kitchens operated by Cámara Solidaria-AGS, presently located in Ciudad de la Luz, will transition to these new facilities. The move supports the non-profit’s ongoing social mission of preparing solidarity menus and expanding educational programs that promote social and labor participation among people at risk of exclusion, especially young people, as well as groups facing collective disadvantage and homelessness in the Alicante province.

The transfer of the workshop site, located in Polígono Riodel, is valid through September 2036 and can be renewed by mutual written agreement. The arrangement remains conditional on the activity development for which it is authorized, ensuring ongoing alignment with program goals and impact standards.

Since its inception in April 2020, Alicante Gastronómica Solidaria has prepared, packaged, and distributed over 610,000 solidarity menus. It has also facilitated training actions under PICE courses that have supported the job placement of more than 700 youths at risk of social exclusion, reflecting solid progress in community outreach and workforce development. The Chamber of Commerce highlights the organization’s sustained impact in fulfilling its mission to assist vulnerable populations through practical food programs and targeted training.

The initiative has thrived thanks to the collaboration of nearly 2,000 volunteers and the backing of around 700 companies that contributed products and materials. In addition, Cámara Solidaria-AGS has enjoyed broad support from public administrations, notably regional and provincial authorities, as well as municipalities including Alicante and Mutxamel, among others, which have provided resources and legitimacy to its mission.

A new phase begins with the relocation of AGS to Muchamiel, where a purpose-built warehouse has been created with the financial and technical backing of the Carmencita team. In this transition, the organization’s managing director, Jesús Navarro Alberola, continues the leadership in partnership with Gema Amor Pérez, the President, and the Vice President of AGS, guiding the ongoing social program and its expansion into the new facility.
