The Civil Guard and the National Police disrupted two cocaine networks operating in Cocentaina and Muro de Alcoy, culminating in the arrest of five drug traffickers. The Alcoy Court of Duty ordered the principal figure in charge of the operation to be detained in prison.
The investigation began earlier this year when authorities gathered critical intelligence about the drug outlets in both Alicante towns. In the initial phase, investigators carried out multiple search operations that led to identifying five individuals involved in the trafficking network.

These actions also helped reveal the leading supplier, a 53-year-old Spaniard who lives in Cocentaina with his wife and two children. The dealer typically conducted sales around 7:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., often meeting clients either in his car or at two fixed locations in the city. The network served customers not only from Cocentaina but also from nearby towns, with the purity of the drugs signaling a broad, regionwide distribution.

One early milestone of the operation was the arrest of a close relative of the main seller along with a hotel manager in Cocentaina. Following the arrest and searches at the hotel, a broader sweep was conducted that resulted in the detention of four additional traffickers. Among them was the principal suspect, the local manager, and an associate who worked at the establishment.
In the judgment handed down by the Alcoy Court of Duty and Instruction, the principal accused was ordered into prison and prohibited from leaving the national territory.
