Regional Kitchen faces a 90‑day shutdown over hygiene violations

A ready-made food distribution company, Regional Kitchen, may be forced to close for 90 days due to breaches of hygiene standards. The information came from the press service of the Moscow Lefortovo Court.

The court report states that a protocol was drawn up against Local Kitchen LLC for violations described as breaches of current sanitary rules related to protecting public health and maintaining sanitary conditions. The case concerns the operator behind the Kitchen in the District brand.

Earlier, the general director of Local Kitchen LLC, which operates under the Kitchen in the District brand, Anton Lozin, along with two other defendants involved in cases of mass poisoning and botulism, appealed for home detention.

Investigators sought the arrest of four defendants, but only one individual, cook Karim Normatov, was remanded to a pre-trial detention center.

Earlier reports from the Ministry of Health raised questions about how many people showing botulism symptoms end up in hospitals, highlighting ongoing public health concerns and the importance of proper sanitary control in food production and distribution networks. The current legal proceedings emphasize the scrutiny placed on food safety practices and the potential consequences for companies found in violation.
