The figure includes the adjustment to be paid by those benefiting from the gas ceiling to compensate for the power plants that use this material to generate electricity.

According to the Iberian Electricity Market Operator (OMIE) and Iberian Gas Market (Mibgas) data, the wholesale price without the Iberian mechanism would be €214.31 per megawatt hour (MWh).

In Portugal, where the gas cap for electricity generation is also applied due to what is known as the “Iberian exception”, the price is the same as in Spain, with which it shares a market.

Electricity in Italy is 263.59 euro/MWh tomorrow and 260.47 euro/MWh in France; 260.65 Euro MWh in Germany; and £182.86 in the UK (EUR 211.11 at current exchange rates).

Auction and setup

If only the auction results in the wholesale market are taken into account, excluding the adjustment to be paid by the gas ceiling right holders, The price per MWh will drop to 134.33 Euros.

Always with the exception of such adjustments, according to time zones, the most expensive price will be reached between 21:00 and 22:00, when it will reach 202 euro/MWh.; the cheapest will be recorded between 15:00 and 16:00 at the rate of 92 euro/MWh.

However, to these amounts must be added the cost of adjusting the gas power plants, which varies depending on the volume required and the price of the system and affects the households and beneficiary companies.

The temporary average correction for consumers today is 69.9 Euro/MWh, however the final price is 204 Euro/MWh, about 5% below the price a year ago.
