Representatives of CC OO and UGT focused on demanding wage improvements for the working class in the context of current inflation at the Valencia Community Confederation of Business (CEV) headquarters in Alicante this Friday. The protest is part of a national call by the unions under the slogan “Salary or conflict”.
The action coincided with the celebration of Eid al-Adha. World Decent Work Dayand raising the need to improve payroll in these times of social, economic and environmental crisis that traps the working class, as they condemn it.
Yaissel Sánchez, general secretary of the UGT at l’Alacantí-Les Marines, Demanded the CEOE to sit back at the negotiating table resumption of social dialogue with the aim of removing barriers to sectoral agreements and paying workers according to the rise in prices. “The loss of purchasing power is around 8%,” he emphasizes.
Paco García, CC OO’s secretary at the same border, considers it urgent to consider the consequences of inflation in the collective bargaining to distribute the burden. In this sense, demands “responsibility” from employers cooperate in agreeing fair and adequate wage increases.
