Industrial safety has become a necessary and decisive element for calibrating, measuring or evaluating companies’ competitiveness and productivity. Empar Martínez, Autonomous Secretary for Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Consumption, Who will participate in the draw tomorrow thursday Hosting the city of Alicante for the first time in the Digital District venue, II. Industrial Security Congress.
more than that 200 confirmed participantsThis event organized by FEMPA and will intervene Generalitat chief Ximo Puigas well as the main representatives of the industrial sector – it has since become a trademark of our autonomy. The Valencian Community is a pioneer in organizing an event with these characteristics in Spain.
We can define it as a set of regulations that ensure that industrial facilities such as boilers, machinery or heating are always in an optimal condition for their operation. Let’s say industrial security is “invisible” while everything else works.
We are talking about an issue that is undoubtedly of vital importance. present in all production processes, It focuses on four main areas: quality, environment, safety and health, as it has implications for facilities and people (employees and users), and includes maintaining safety conditions and compliance with necessary rules and regulations.
Within industrial security, verification of security conditions, authorized access, surveillance or communication with State security agencies and forces, for example, Police, Fire Brigade and Emergency services also come into play.
The first is that the facilities comply with regulations., because these are heavily studied by experts who ensure these regulations are updated. A company’s compliance with all regulations It’s not a bureaucratic issue, it’s a security issue. In addition, a suitable system to control the safety of employees, reach productivity decreases because a company needs It reduces sick leave and minimizes risks caused by unauthorized entry, rotation, work accidents.
Another aspect that is equally important is to have qualified professionals. In this sense, we created a new figure from Consell, the person in charge of industrial safety, the person who ensures compliance with industrial safety in a company. To this end, several formative courses so these professionals are constantly updated.
Generalitat Valenciana has promoted investments and measures to improve industrial safety since 2018, and 450,000 euros have already been allocated to this point. It is a collaborative effort within the Industrial Safety Coordination Board, in collaboration with commercial organizations and federations, engineering associations, vocational training centers, Labora and occupational risk prevention organizations.
Our role is to ensure the safety of people, companies and professionals. and therefore we have made a firm commitment to stop industrial safety from being an “invisible” activity.
Some of the special measures we have taken in these four years stand out as follows: dissemination and awareness campaigns on industrial safety in education centres, media campaigns, radio, cinema, TV… for the general public and professionals alike. And on the other hand, strengthening market surveillance: we concentrated inspections it is often carried out to combat intrusions so professionals are well advised and thus companies that do not guarantee industrial security will not be on the market.
Tomorrow is a day that aims to make clear that industrial safety must be addressed through education, regulation, expertise, special preparation and the cooperation of all social actors.. It is a very important event with many professionals participating and already more than 200 confirmed participants.
Actually, Community of Valencia is the first autonomy organizing a congress with these characteristics: has become its own brand.
Thanks to this coordinated work and all the efforts made over the past four years, many milestones have been achieved in this field today: in September Industrial Security Campaign 2022, with the participation of various professional organizations and business federations; already celebrated two conferences on industrial safety (the first will be held in Valencia, the second will be held tomorrow in Alicante); and the II Industrial Safety Awards will be presented next November 3 in Castellon.
Here, I want to value your work FEMPA -organizer of this event- for his commitment to education, organizing expert conferences and always determining what is most sensitive and relevant for the group of professionals dedicated to industrial safety. In addition, we had the participation of the General Directorate of Industry of our Ministry in two days.
Most importantly, the new Industry Law, which was at the stage of consultation with the public before, will devote a special section to industrial safety. This new law will also affect expansion, digitalisation, the circular economy, new technologies and new productive sectors.
At this point, it should be noted that a very high level of security has been reached but we must continue to work development of the appearance of new technologies, means of production and commercialization with maximum security, for users in general and workers exposed to industrial risks in particular.
