What does ‘The Incredible Duo’ mean to you?
I’ve been going from challenge to challenge for 5 years and this is a new challenge, but it seems less complicated to me. Being on stage with other older people gives me some relief, but just in case, I do it a lot.

So beautiful and above all discovering the people behind the artist. I’m interested in great singers and people, and I finally realized that I’m not that crazy. I am a person who is extremely attentive to my voice and I have noticed that people who have been involved in music all their lives are still here because they have taken great care of their careers and their very powerful instruments. I love meeting people like this that make you see that you are not alone in this world.
Give an example of how you view your voice.
The use of humidifiers, both in rooms and on the plane. He’s always bubbling, he doesn’t talk too much… I won’t say senior because otherwise I’d be giving clues as to who I spend a lot of time with (laughs), but that person is definitely asleep and giving. Advice on what to buy and what not to buy. He also cares about thyme as much as I do.
What does singing live mean to you?
I’ve never had television with live music and this proves to be a luxury. Finally, at concerts yes but never here. In addition, we can make things a lot easier. They don’t put you in a play where you’re corseted. It doesn’t give you the freedom to create this in any other program. Leaving on stage is freedom. On top of that, we share performances with artists who don’t explicitly impose the idea of singing on us, but instead immerse ourselves in the stage, and that’s great.
What was the first thing you felt when you saw your partner on the podium and before you started your first performance?
It was very rare. I tried to keep watching. We did it with the choir players to rehearse, but for the first time I went out singing not knowing who would come out from the opposite side, but also not knowing which song to play. That is, we would have to learn all the songs of the elders. So you’re scared too because you don’t know what’s going to happen.
The essence of ‘The Incredible Duo’ lies in this last concept, right? Letting go of the other and adapting to get a good performance.
Sure, and that’s very nice. Also, giving one space to understand, learn about one’s partner, to believe in the song they have to sing, to explore and to give something new makes you almost believe that you are making a new song.
From Agoney leaving ‘OT’ Academy to the academy we’ll see on ‘Incredible Duos’, what has been the most significant change in your artistic evolution?
Above all, change was to stop thinking. Release. Putting one foot on the stage and focusing entirely on the song, being able to interpret what I love. Emotion and nothing more, because in addition, I have colleagues who taught me this. The rest comes naturally or you can’t control it, but letting go is very important.
You are currently the winner of the ‘Your face looks like me’ contest. In the upcoming season, your Academy classmates Alfred and Miriam will be the contestants. Did you give him any advice?
While I was at the press conference, my cell phone vibrated. Got a missed call from Alfred. What did he want? We don’t know (laughs), but I wanted something from ‘Your face is ringing’. Definitely. Alfred loves the game and showed little. So, this contest will work to get you hooked, let loose, and show people the funniest side of her, because that’s what ‘Your face looks like to me’.
Speaking of music and being on RTVE, it’s impossible not to ask’Benidorm Festival‘. Have you considered participating in the next edition as an artist or composer?
You’re late (laughs). I sat here and thought this would be the first question. I think the term doesn’t close with anything, but I don’t know. Everything I’ve done so far has been to let go and do what I feel. It’s true that I share and talk a lot with María Eizaguirre these days. I went to Sevilla to give an award. So he told me a lot about ‘Benidorm Fest’ and the truth is this is a great place. I can’t give you a short answer because I don’t even know.

This is true. I wasn’t going to introduce myself as just the presenter but I love Monica very much and yes, I would feel very comfortable like the others. I think I know most of the servers in our country and I feel very comfortable. Also, I know the team responsible for ‘Benidorm Fest’ very well and I feel very comfortable knowing almost all the cameramen.
Do you have a music project apart from this project?
I am starting a very ambitious project in terms of visual and sound level. All the decisions made are very important. That’s why I go easy. I’m a very calm person but this is going to be an incredible record like the show.
