Danish authorities to lower temperature in public buildings

Danish Minister of Climate, Energy and Supply Dan Jørgensen said the country will lower the temperature norm for public buildings from 21-22 degrees Celsius to 19 degrees Celsius. He announced this at a press conference in Copenhagen. TASS.

According to him, the authorities will also turn off the exterior lighting of the buildings.

“Indoor temperatures will be lowered to 19 degrees unless there are appropriate justifications for a higher temperature.”

Exceptions would be hospitals, nursing homes and kindergartens.

He also noted that it was prescribed to reduce gas consumption by 25% in such facilities, excluding hospitals and social institutions.
