Russia cut off electricity supply from Zaporizhia nuclear power plant to Ukrainian grid

Pro-Russian officials of the city of Energodar, home to the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, announced this Saturday that electricity supplies to the Ukrainian grid were suspended due to “technical difficulties”. The power plant provides one-fifth of the country’s electricity consumption.

Ukraine’s pro-Russian civil-military administration said, “Experts present there reported that the electricity produced by the reactors varies due to technical characteristics. Electricity supply to the regions controlled by Ukraine was suspended due to technical difficulties.” According to Russian news agency Interfax, Enerdogar is on the Telegram channel.

Specifically, they condemn the damage caused by the Ukrainian bombing, which is already being treated by experts. This is how they reported that two lines of the facility were damaged.
