Next junction: Luceros

It was intriguing to see Alicante and Elche through the eyes of the Vuelta a España producers and commentators. It was very shocking to me that Plaza de los Luceros was limited to a roundabout in the middle of the last section of the finish line for stage purposes. I think the oldest place doesn’t associate Luceros with that term, because when roundabouts weren’t invented, Luceros (labeled with other square names) was already there.

Examining the scene, forgetting the sport and focusing on what was literally television, it was remarkable that the first thing Carlos de Andrés said when starting his connection on Teledeporte was very hot and the worst was the humidity. This humidity caused uncomfortable sweating even for those who were standing like himself and couldn’t move from their seats on the set.

It must be said that an embankment set up on Ferré Vidiella street was lifeless, given that the Alfonso X el Sabio in the background intersects with a huge, unattractive terrain. It would be better to look for a neutral background.

Admittedly, if we talk about non-sports and television broadcasting, it was much worse for the scene following the Alicante-Elizabeth stage passing through Cabo de Gata in Almería. In it and in the full transmission of La 1, Pedro Delgado calmly dared to say that this stage is over and it is starting to get utterly boring. Carlos de Andrés did not have time to put on warm cloths.

With the money the Vuelta has cost all the administrations it has passed through, this comment must have felt like a shot.
