The operation began about six months ago when expert agents of the National Police conducting “cyber patrols” found a series of apparently fake websites.
The “modus operandi” consisted of: Contracted domains hosted on a server in Granollers (Barcelona)It is seen that they offer services to the web pages they have designed to make them look like “online” stores where all kinds of white goods and computer products are sold at very low prices.
Likewise, they are dedicated to managing their domain and being responsible for running “online” stores, attracting people willing to get commissions for their sales.
After victims pay for the products, They neither received the products nor contacted the alleged sellersexcept in a few cases where some of these people get back 70% of what they paid and leave the remaining 30% clean profits to the authors of the scam.
The National Police has identified hundreds of victims of this scam across Spain, who are victims of scams amounting to more than half a million euros.
