The Indian Navy and Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has successfully tested a vertically launched short-range anti-aircraft missile (VL-SRSAM) designed for ship-borne anti-aircraft systems. This has been reported an india.
According to the publication, the test launch of the missile was carried out from an Indian Navy ship at the Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur off the coast of Odisha.
A missile equipped with a radar homing head was fired at a high-speed drone target to demonstrate the possibility of a vertical launch.
“The missiles intercepted the target with high accuracy,” the report says.
Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that the VL-SRSAM will increase the combat capability of the Indian Navy.
