According to Mall Index, attendance in Moscow shopping centers in the first half of August was 11% lower than last year, 18% compared to 2020 and 23% lower than in 2019. According to the Rstat Index, the same indicators decreased by 9%, 18% and 39%, respectively.
These data, highlighted by analysts, show that sales in August and the temporary opening of Swedish H&M group’s stores before they leave the Russian market do not support participation in the mall.
Experts of Mall Index note that in Russia as a whole, attendance in shopping centers in the first half of August was 9% lower than last year and 19% lower than in 2019. It is also emphasized that it is 3% higher than in August 2020, as there are restrictions on the coronavirus pandemic in many regions.
