Newspaper L He reports that Ukrainian refugees arriving in Spain prefer to return to their homeland rather than “living abroad in poverty”.
According to the publication, about 125 thousand Ukrainians arrived in Spain. For many, adaptation proved to be a “difficult task”. They complained that the crime was low wages and high cost of living.
Padrina’s refugee fund said the refugees were starving, while the administration “seemed unaware of the plight of these families”. As an example, the publication cited the words of Yuriy, a 42-year-old Ukrainian who complained that he had lost the room given to him by the authorities because he had not fulfilled the Spanish compulsory education requirement. He already stated that he speaks Spanish perfectly and does not need a course. The room was quickly redistributed to its citizens. Thus, he was deprived of the opportunity to get a job in a foreign country, without a roof over his head.
According to him, he is ready to return to Ukraine and is not afraid of hostilities, so at least he will not need an overnight stay and will be close to his relatives.
Previously at the UN reportedAbout two-thirds of Ukrainian refugees plan to stay in other countries until the conflict in their country ends.
