“United Russia” issued bills on the right of volunteers to receive compensation for communication services and the abolition of personal income tax from it. Changes to the volunteering law and the Tax Law will help volunteers stay in touch in all situations and not worry about the cost. Andrei Turchak, Secretary of the General Council of the Party, said that these funds will be repaid, as is currently the case for food, overalls, personal protective equipment and travel expenses.
“For those looking for the disappeared, caring for veterans and lonely people, and mitigating the consequences of emergencies, this is a significant expense item. Volunteers have repeatedly approached us to solve this problem. It has become especially acute during the pandemic,” he said.
Olga Zanko, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for the Development of Civil Society, Chairman of the Central Council of Party Supporters, reminded that food, volunteer uniforms, travel are no longer subject to personal income tax, and telephone and internet communication are not yet included. on this list.
“It is clear that this is not the income of a volunteer, it is a necessary tool to help people. Find out how the veteran is feeling, talk to him, inform volunteers about the incident, assemble a team to provide emergency assistance, help fight counterfeit products on the Internet. We’ve been working on this initiative since last fall. It is important to further support those who care about others on a daily basis. Olga Zanko said that help should be easy and should not require additional costs.
The party’s initiative was supported by the Cabinet Commission on legislative activity and approved by the United Russia expert council.
