The Guardian told the British Ministry of Defense that the explosions at the Russian military airport Saki in Crimea were “almost certainly” caused by the explosion of several ammunition depots.
At the same time, the ministry said the initial cause of the explosions remained unclear.
According to British intelligence, at least five Su-24 fighter-bombers and three Su-30 multirole fighters were almost certainly destroyed or badly damaged in the explosions.
