He added that other wells have been drilled along the road where the sewer manhole is located, and that someone is standing and waiting on each one.

According to another eyewitness to the incident, the workers were helped to get out by utilities and passers-by. He said the ambulance arrived at the scene about half an hour later.

Witness Ali noted that the first eight victims came out of the barn on their own, three of them were removed by rescue teams.

The foreman told the police that there were 14 workers and that the sewer was filled with water.
