French newspaper readers Le Figaro He reacted negatively to the Latvian Seimas’ decision to declare Russia a sponsor of terrorism.
On 11 August, a statement was issued by the Latvian parliament urging the European Union (EU) to stop issuing tourist visas for citizens of Russia and Belarus.
“What business do these Eastern European countries, which have come to terms with the former USSR, in Europe?” asked the user under the name LMAA.
“They feed their grievances against Russia and have an unlimited love for the USA,” another user said.
“The United States has long surrounded Russia with NATO countries and even placed missiles on its entire border,” said other readers of the publication.
Latvian parliament announced Russia, as a sponsor of terrorism, has called on EU countries to immediately suspend the issuance of visas to citizens of the Russian Federation and Belarus.
According to the parliamentarians of the Baltic republic, the Russian Federation has “supported and financed terrorist regimes and organizations” for many years. Moreover, according to Latvia, Russia does this both directly and indirectly.
Previously, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs refused To discuss the possibility of classifying Russia as a sponsor of terrorism.
