More than 81,000 users register on Renfe website to buy free passes

in total 81,023 users signed up this Monday mobile app and website renfeenabled to facilitate the first day buy a free subscription Cercanías, Rodalies and Media Distancia, which will go live on August 24.

In the statement made by the railway operator, 48,175 of the total registered users on Monday were registered via the Renfe website, 22,735 through the Renfe app, 9,986 through the Renfe Cercanías app and 127 through the Avlo website.

After signing up, customers will be able to purchase their subscription from August 24, effective from September 1 to December 31. Renfe apps or apps allow the purchase of recurring Cercanías season tickets, a QR code to download to the mobile phone and then it can be used in station access control or self-service machines and ticket offices to buy physical tickets.

To get the subscription, although it is free, you will need to make a deposit. 10 euro deposit 20 Euros for each Cercanías and Rodalies core and for each Conventional Media Distancia service.

Payment by card will automatically (after expiration) return this deposit in accordance with its terms, i.e. 16 trips in these 4 months.
