this average electricity price for regulated rate customers linked to the wholesale market this Monday will increase by 12.4% compared to this Sunday to 270.24 euros Per megawatt hour (MWh) according to provisional data from the Iberian Energy Market Operator (OMIE) collected by Europa Press.
This price is the result of adding the average of the wholesale market auction to the compensation that the demand will pay to the combined cycle power plants for the application of the ‘Iberian exemption’ to limit the gas price for electricity generation.
In the auction, the average price of electricity in the wholesale market called ‘pool’ was determined. It was at 1,146.31 euro/MWh for this Monday. The maximum price will be recorded at 170.36 euro/MWh between 21:00 and 22:00, with a minimum of 126 euro/MWh for the day between 16:00 and 17:00.
To this price of the ‘Pool’ is added the compensation of 123.93 Euro/MWh, which must be paid to gas companies, although consumers benefiting from the measure, regulated tariff (PVPC) consumers or taxpayers. In the free market, it has an indexed rate.
