Honored Lawyer of Russia Ivan Solovyov warns that phone scammers are becoming more active, having come up with a new scheme to deceive citizens during the summer holidays, reports RT.

“The call comes from a phone number with the Moscow region code 495,” he said.

At the same time, according to the expert, the number is not marked on the basis of caller ID or spam or unwanted calls.

According to him, after picking up the phone, a person hears the characteristic voice of a voice assistant, which informs that the bank has received an application to change the customer’s phone number.

“And he wants her to press “one” if she is, “two” if not. Whatever number the person presses, and if no number is pressed, the call is transferred to the “bank employee” after the loss of music. Calls the customer’s name and reports the existence of a request to change the phone number. He proposes to wait for an SMS from the bank to clarify everything, ”the lawyer continued.

A minute later, he stated that he received an SMS from the number from which the actual bank alerts came, with a request to enter a code to confirm the phone change. As Solovyov emphasized, in no case should the code from this SMS be entered.

He also noted that it is necessary to immediately stop talking to scammers.

Former security expert Oleg Sedov gave advice What phrases should Russians avoid during a phone call, avoiding fraud.
