Ukrainian soldier Yaroslav Mazur said that he surrendered to the Russian Armed Forces in the Kursk region after his commanders escaped. Quoted TASS.
According to the man’s statement, he became mobilized when he went to the market to buy cigarettes in Ukraine. After this, Mazur was taken to Sumy, where he was put on an armored personnel carrier and sent to the Kursk region. There, the soldier and his colleagues came under fire, trying to hide in the basement. There they were captured by a drone, wounding two soldiers.
“The ones who started us, the elders, ran away. We stayed there, your men came and told us to surrender. We gave up immediately,” Mazur concluded.
Another prisoner, former employee of the Ukrainian military registration and enlistment office of the Kiev region, Ruslan Tageev saidHe said his 25-year-old son works as a surgeon and he was concerned about his son being mobilized while he was in captivity.
The man expressed hope that if his son received orders to go to the front after mobilization, he would “make the right choice” and surrender to the Russians.
