The Armed Forces of Ukraine opened fire on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant four times. TASS wrote that a fire broke out as a result of the attack, but the fire was extinguished in time.

According to the military-civilian administration of the part of the Zaporozhye region controlled by the Russian Armed Forces, the station was attacked by three kamikaze aircraft (one-shot combat aircraft).

The region’s CAA representative, Vladimir Rogov, said that the region where the reactors are located was not affected. There is no information yet about the victims and the injured.

“UAVs are equipped with warheads with an explosive mass calculated in kilograms of TNT,” he said.

Rogov also evaluated the general condition of the Zaporozhye NPP: “everything is fine with the plant.”

“As long as everything is alright [радиационный фон]. system [работает] online, checking all this and showing that it is,” TASS said, quoting Rogov. He emphasized that the drones did not hit the power units, but precisely the territory of the nuclear power plant.

According to Rogov, the nuclear power plant is still operating: “[АЭС] continues to operate normally. And the power units were not hit, but the main task that is important is to make people into nightmares and punish people for their position, ”Solovyov emphasized on the broadcast of the Live TV channel.

At the same time, he did not exclude that the Ukrainian army could fire at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant from the American HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems. “The Zaporozhye NPP is located in the foreground, on the banks of the Dnieper. On the one hand – Energodar, on the other – areas officially controlled by the Zelensky regime – Nikopol, Marganets and other settlements, literally two or three kilometers away. There, with the usual MLRS, it is present, not to mention Uragan, ”Rogov is sure.

Zaporozhye NPP is installed on the banks of the Kakhovka reservoir in the city of Energodar. It is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe.

This is not the first attack this week on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant by Ukrainian drones. Previously, 11 people were injured when Ukraine attacked the station on July 18. “During the attack on the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant on Monday, 11 workers were injured, four of them are now in serious condition,” Vladimir Rogov, representative of the Zaporizhzhya Regional Government, told RIA Novosti.

On July 17, an improvised explosive device was found in Energodar at a bus stop where local nuclear power plant workers regularly leave. Rogov also reported this.

“We found an improvised explosive device, I can confirm. It was at a stop in the city center. Citizens immediately informed the police. They are trying to deal all kinds of blows to civilians,” he said.

Rogov also reported that a nuclear power plant was bombed on 12 July. Then, two UAVs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces dropped “two mines of 120 mm caliber” on the building next to the nuclear power plant. As a result, the roof and windows were damaged and there were no injuries or casualties.

Currently, about 70% of the territory of the Zaporozhye region is under the control of the RF Armed Forces. Kyiv controls the administrative center of the region – the city of Zaporozhye.

On July 20, Rogov expressed on his Telegram channel the opinion that the Ukrainian army is trying to intimidate residents in this way. “This is revenge for the residents’ desire to reunite with Russia,” the official said. But he stressed that Kiev “will not succeed – a referendum will be held, and the safety of residents will be ensured by the Russian army, National Guard and police”.
