Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on the news that Russian citizens may stop issuing Schengen visas.

According to him, it is difficult to exclude any action by the EU in these circumstances.

“In this context, indeed, such a danger cannot be ruled out, it would be very bad and would naturally lead to variants of retaliation by Moscow,” the Kremlin spokesperson said.

At the same time, he noted that Russia wants to hope for the best “for a small share of maintaining smart thinking” among its opponents.
