Madrid will help Ukraine with 2.4m euros divided into five projects led by five NGOs
Madrid City Council’s Internationalization area has allocated €2.4 million spread over a total of five projects, each managed by an NGO (UNICEF, International Rescue, Acnur, Farmamundi and CESAL) and focused on a different aspect.
These projects provide economic assistance, health and psychosocial care or accommodation centers, as well as refrigerators for transporting medicines or special assistance for the disabled who are trapped.
This was announced by Internationalization delegate Santiago Saura at the presentation ceremony held at the Cecilio Rodriguez Gardens in El Retiro, where he explained that the projects are subsidized with a budget ranging from 400,000 to 500,000 Euros each. Along with him were representatives of NGOs, deputy mayor Begoña Villacís and Ukrainian ambassador Serhii Pohoreltsev.
