Former Deputy Chief of the Ministry of Defense Pavel Popov will be transferred to a general cell in the Butyrka pre-trial detention center after passing all medical examinations during quarantine. It was reported TASS in law enforcement.
The agency’s source said Popov was placed in a special quarantine cell for now, where he will undergo a thorough medical examination. Afterwards, he will be transferred to a regular common cell with other prisoners.
The ministry announced that Popov will be placed in a separate facility from those serving sentences for violent crimes. In addition, Popov will be able to use food delivery from shops and restaurants during his arrest, as Butyrka is an official service. To do this, he will need to write an application to the head of the pre-trial detention center. If the request is approved, Popov will be given a special account that his loved ones can fund.
Court in Moscow arrested Popov is on trial for fraud on August 29. He will be held in pre-trial detention center-2 “Butyrka” until October 29.
Before this, law enforcement was detained Popov on suspicion of enrichment at the expense of the Patriot Park in the Moscow region.
