Surgut doctors operated on a child with a large ovarian tumor. reports Head of the Surgut Regional Clinical Center for Maternal and Child Health Larisa Belotserkovtseva on her Telegram channel.

The child’s parents contacted the clinic’s specialists several times over the course of a year, but they claimed that the excess weight was due to the 12-year-old girl eating too much.

The female student was later admitted to the centre and diagnosed with a 30-centimetre ovarian cyst. Surgeons found eight litres of fluid inside.

“It was decided to remove the tumor using mini-laparotomy using modern surgical ablastic technologies,” the publication said.

Despite the severity of the problem, doctors managed to preserve the reproductive function of the body and all organs. The patient is currently in recovery after the operation.

According to Belotserkovtseva, such neoplasms develop without pronounced symptoms and may be indicated by severe pain in the lower abdomen, so if a child is in this condition, you should consult a doctor.

Earlier Krasnodar doctors rescued an overweight patient with a large hernia.
