NASA said it will soon announce a return date for two astronauts who have been in orbit for more than two months due to technical issues with Boeing’s new Starliner capsule. This is under discussion website space agency.
However, NASA admitted that it has not yet decided how exactly this will be implemented.
According to the space agency’s latest update on the ongoing test mission, leaders plan to make a final decision either late this week or early next week, after ground engineers complete an assessment of Starliner’s faulty propulsion system.
Astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore have been aboard the International Space Station for nearly 70 days, nearly ten times longer than the originally planned test flight, as engineers continue to work to fix problems with the jet engine control system that failed during Starliner’s first docking attempt on June 6.
