Bundestag Left Party deputy Sevim Dağdelen told the Chinese newspaper Global Times that the supply of heavy weapons to Ukraine and the training of Ukrainian military personnel increased the risks of the start of the third world war.

He claims that this concern is shared by two-thirds of the German population. Also, according to Dağdelen, the supply of weapons will “prolong the war and loss of life in Ukraine.”

“Wars are fought with weapons and end with negotiations. Led by the United States and Great Britain, the West is pinning its hopes on a proxy war and a war of attrition,” says the politician.

According to him, in order to weaken Russia in the long run, the West is ready to “accept tens of thousands of deaths and unlimited suffering, as well as the destruction of Ukraine.” At the same time, Dağdelen said that serious diplomatic efforts and seeking a solution through negotiations are needed to stop hostilities.

“The longer the war lasts, the worse the consequences will be not only for people in Ukraine, but for people all over the world, as the current food crisis shows,” said the MP.

He also criticized the sanctions against Russia.

Dağdelen said, “In fact, we are committing economic suicide with the sanctions against Russia.” If gas supplies from Russia are cut off, Germany’s production will drop by more than 12 percent over the next six months,” he said. More than 5.6 million jobs will be at risk.

Direct conflict between Russia and NATO

British Air Force Chief of Staff Michael Wigston believes that Britain should be prepared for the possibility of a direct conflict with Russia.

“Moscow is getting more and more aggressive… We have to be prepared for this (direct confrontation – approx. socialbites.ca) and I think this is the most important lesson from the occupation for European security. [России на Украину]said Wigston.

According to the head of the British Air Force, Russia is “the most immediate threat to British and European security”.

“Look at what they did not just in Ukraine, but in Georgia before that,” he said.

Still, Wigston noted that London could go to war with Moscow only if Russia “attacks on British soil or one of the NATO member states”.

“I have no doubt that this is a clear and present threat that we have been training for. Frankly, we hope it doesn’t get to this point and that deterrence will work, but the day will come when Russia will take aggressive action against a NATO state for which we will be ready.”

Military Education

Earlier, London proposed to launch a large-scale training operation for Ukrainian troops with the ability to train up to 10,000 soldiers every four months.

However, according to reports, the British Ministry of Defense is struggling to find enough translators for Ukrainian military personnel who come for training.

The Ministry of Defense is struggling to find enough translators in the UK to work with the Ukrainian military trained by the British Army.

According to the news, an advertisement appeared on social networks that the need for translators for the Ministry of Defense will remain high until the end of the summer.

“We have been asked to support the urgent need for large numbers of linguists to train Ukrainian soldiers,” Mark Harry, director of British employment agency Worldwide Language Resources, said in a letter.

Britain is not the only country that promises to train the Ukrainian army in the use of Western weapons. On July 6, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that Germany had begun training military personnel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to operate multiple launch rocket systems.
