“We have another route in preparation: Nord Stream 2 can be launched,” Putin said while talking about the possibilities of resolving the energy crisis in Europe, TASS news agency reported.
Commissioning Nord Stream 2 is one of the ways to increase the supply of Russian gas to Europe.Russian President Vladimir Putin told reporters, although half of its capacity is used for domestic consumption, this route is currently “problematic”.
“We discussed this issue a month and a half ago in my meeting with the Chancellor (German, Olaf Scholz) and I brought it up,” I said. Gazprom assigned talents and needs to do something about it, they can’t stay in the air forever‘ said the Russian President.
“So, then I warned We would use half of the volume designated for Nord Stream for consumption and domestic use.So even if we launch Nord Stream 2 tomorrow, it will not be 55 billion cubic meters per year, but exactly half,” he said.
In this context, Putin emphasized. Russian gas company Gazprom has always complied with its gas supply obligations. and will continue to do so.
“Gazprom has always fulfilled, fulfills and will continue to fulfill all its obligations,” he said.
Russian gas company Gazprom announced a month ago will reduce the supply sent through the pipeline by 40 percent Nord Stream 1, which connects Russia to Germany, attributed this to delays in repairing various pieces of equipment by the German firm Siemens.
Regarding the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline, Putin stated that if Russia is unable to recover a turbine, this route could be used to pump only 30 million cubic meters of gas per day instead of the current 60 million.
“If another one comes, okay, two of them will work. If not, only one will work. has only 30 million cubic meters per day“, he explained.
In other news, Putin urged this Tuesday to lift Western restrictions on Russian grains to advance the export of Ukrainian agricultural production, which is currently blocked by the Kremlin offensive in the country.
As reported by the aforementioned institution, the President of Russia, “We will facilitate the export of Ukrainian grain, but on the basis of the removal of all restrictions on air deliveries for the export of Russian grain.”
In this context, he said: “The Americans practically lifted restrictions on the supply of Russian fertilizers to the world market.. I hope the same will happen with Russia’s grain export supply if they sincerely want to improve the situation in world food markets. We are ready now. Our export potential is 30 million tons of grain, according to this year’s results, it will be 50 million tons.”
