In the 235th Garrison Military Court in Moscow, a criminal case began against the former head of the anti-corruption department of the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of the Russian Federation, Major General Dmitry Muryshov, reports the Kommersant newspaper.

A criminal case was opened against the general on December 8, 2022. According to the investigation, Muryshov received money from entrepreneurs for refusing to carry out additional verification measures provided for by customs legislation. The investigation into the general was conducted by the main military investigation department of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

Immediately after the start of the trial, the lawyers made a request to return the criminal case to the prosecutor’s office. According to the defense lawyers, the indictment does not meet the requirements of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation. In addition, according to them, General Muryshov could not provide assistance to the bribers, since he was not responsible for supervising their activities. However, the court rejected all the lawyers’ requests.

Before that Moscow Khoroshevsky Court captured More than 26 million rubles and real estate of Alexander Kireev, a former employee of the central apparatus of the RF IC, as well as his father and mother.
