The head of the warehouse of the military unit No. 20634 in Vladikavkaz, Svetlana Gorbunova, tried to sell Ratnik protective helmets and night vision scopes from the warehouse for 600 thousand rubles. The buyer warned the FSB about the deal, the woman was sentenced to six years in prison and lost the rank of senior warrant officer. This is stated in the decision of the Vladikavkaz Garrison Military Court, reviewed by socialbites.ca.

In 2023, Gorbunova met a citizen Alkhanov, who was involved in sending humanitarian aid to the front; he wanted to buy a helmet and night vision scopes from him. Realizing that the property was sold from the warehouse of the military unit, the buyer contacted the Russian FSB, recording the conversation on a voice recorder. Other actions were also carried out under the control of the security forces.

On December 27, the depot manager allowed a KamAZ truck with black military plates to enter the area; the vehicle was loaded with 5 “6B47 Ratnik” protective helmets and 16 different models of night vision binoculars. With this equipment, the truck left the gate and headed towards the FSB department.

Immediately after the transaction, Gorbunova met the buyer not far from the unit and took from him 600 thousand rubles, of which two banknotes with a face value of five thousand rubles were real, the rest were fake. After that, the woman was detained.

Experts estimated the cost of five helmets at 160 thousand rubles, and 16 sights at 4.2 million rubles.

The military court found Gorbunova guilty of two crimes: embezzlement, embezzlement and theft of weapons. As an aggravating circumstance, the court took into account that the warehouse manager committed a crime during the mobilization period: the subject of the theft was military property that was intended for use and necessary in the performance of combat missions.

He was sentenced to six years in a correctional colony of the general regime, deprived of the military rank of “senior warrant officer”.

The stolen helmets and sights were returned to the military unit’s warehouse. Two 5,000-ruble notes were returned to Alkhanov, while 118 counterfeit notes were also returned “as they belong.”

A member of the SVO, who previously brought illegal immigrants from Syria to Russia, accepted postponement of sentence.
